2022 General Contractor of the Year

Vertix Builders, Inc. has once again been recognized as the “General Contractor of the Year,” a prestigious industry award presented by the American Subcontractor Association of Colorado (ASA of Colorado). 

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics and Spine Broomfield Practice 

BROOMFIELD — The Boulder Centre for Orthopedics and Spine, a practice with operations in Boulder and Louisville, is building an operation in Broomfield that is expected to be open early next year. 
The 37,000-square-foot, two-story Broomfield practice will be at 1185 Colorado Highway 7, just east of the Children’s Hospital North Campus.

African Penguin Point

Vertix Builders recently completed the new penguin habitat at the Denver Zoo. It was a highly specialized construction project.
Designed by landscape architect Perry-Becker Design, Pinnacol African Penguin Point provides features that enhance the birds’ well-being and guest experience. 

The construction market today is often volatile. It’s a face-paced environment where labor is in short supply and everyone is pushing to get things done faster. Those competing forces can easily create tension among owners, contractors and subs, leading to an unpleasant and contentious building experience where someone is destined to leave unsatisfied. Vertix Builders was founded in 2014 with a focus on reversing that trend and taking the culture back 30 years to when a person’ word meant something.

Vertix Builders recently topped out two new medical facilities: the Greeley Skilled Nursing Facility and the Dry Creek Medical Office Building. The Greeley Skilled Nursing Facility, located at 4356 24^th Street Road, is a three-story building totaling 52,000 square feet and will provide 54 beds.

Colorado-based Vertix Builders recently celebrated the topping out of a new 21,000-square-foot surgery center and physical therapy building in Laramie, Wyoming.  The new building is being built on behalf of Premier Bone and Joint, an orthopedic group serving patients throughout the state of Wyoming as well as athletes from the University of Wyoming for over 40 years.

Vertix Builders began construction recently on the new Parker MOB III medical office building on the Parker Adventist Medical Campus. As a health care construction specialist, Vertix Builders will be working with a team that includes RTA Architects, Med Development and Parker Adventist.

“We’re excited to be working with Centura Health and Parker Adventist to bring a great facility to their Parker campus,” said Ryan Bonner, president of Vertix Builders.

The Design Build Institute of America, Rocky Mountain Region (DBIA-RMR) will donate design and construction services to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver to make needed improvements to the organization’s Johnson Boys & Girls Club in the West Colfax neighborhood.

Vertix Builders, a culture-focused construction company, has successfully completed the new robotics OR and support spaces at the Swedish Medical Center birthing unit. The company was selected to retrofit existing spaces in order to accommodate the new operating room, support spaces, pre-op and recovery areas.

DENVER – Vertix Builders, Inc. recently established a ten point “culture code” for the company and its employees that is garnering industry attention.  The code is posted at the company’s jobsites and serves not only as a reminder, but as a way for employees to feel empowered to make sure all aspects of a job are being done correctly and running smoothly.

DENVER –Zeppelin Development has selected Vertix Builders, a Colorado-based construction company, to build Kabin, 194 workforce housing units that broke ground last month in RiNo.

Vertix Builders, a culture-focused construction company, is pleased to announce that the company was selected to provide renovations to the Swedish Medical Center-Southwest Emergency Room. The work will include updates to the main waiting room and reception desk (which will be highlighted by a new, wood ceiling and custom casework) and renovations to the patient and nurse areas. The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018.

Subcontractors account for 90 percent of the cost on most projects and are the true tradesmen who create each building. One of the most important factors in evaluating a prospective general contractor is the strength of its relationships with subcontractors. This is increasingly important in a flush construction market where contractors can be picky about who they work with. Unfortunately, too many general contractors run a job site more like a dictatorship than a partnership with their skilled tradespeople, and that lack of camaraderie can cost an owner time and money, and create frustration.
