ABOUT VERTIX BUILDERS

Vertix Builders specializes in healthcare construction, delivering ground-up facilities and complex remodels within occupied hospitals while maintaining patient safety and operational continuity. We partner with healthcare facilities through a collaborative, people-first culture that prioritizes patient care.

Why We Started

In 2014, co‑founders Ryan Bonner and Ted Laszlo saw a recurring problem: hospitals and clinics needed upgrades, but construction often disrupted care, added stress, and left clinical teams feeling unheard.

They created Vertix Builders to offer a different kind of partnership—one where field expertise and respect for patient care lead every conversation. From the beginning, the company was built as a culture-first organization, designed to support the people doing the work and the people receiving care.

This approach proved itself during an early occupied hospital renovation that achieved zero unplanned outages through meticulous phased planning and direct collaboration with nursing leadership. The project demonstrated that smaller, specialized teams could deliver complex healthcare construction while maintaining the operational integrity that hospital facilities demand around the clock.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to build places where care can thrive—today and into the future. You shouldn’t have to choose between improving your facilities and protecting the people inside them. We believe every healthcare project is an opportunity to make care safer, calmer, and more efficient. That means listening closely to your teams, planning around your patients, and treating every decision as if someone you love is being cared for in the next room. We measure success not just by what we build, but by how your staff and patients experience construction along the way.

What This Looks Like in Action

When your facility stays open during construction, every detail matters. Our role is to help you move your project forward while protecting the trust your patients and staff place in you every day. You can expect:

  • Care-centered planning: we start by understanding how your teams deliver care, then build our construction plan around those needs. Patient safety, privacy, and comfort are guiding priorities—not afterthoughts.
  • Respect for your daily operations: we coordinate work around critical care times and key clinical activities. The goal is simple: keep your teams focused on patients, not on construction.
  • Clear, consistent communication: your staff should never be surprised by what’s happening next. We share look-ahead schedules, hold regular check-ins, and create easy channels for feedback and questions.
  • Calm, prepared teams on site: our field teams are experienced in active medical settings. They understand the importance of professionalism, discretion, and composure in sensitive environments. This approach is designed to reduce disruption, support your culture, and give you confidence that construction and care can move forward together.
  • Leadership Focused On Healthcare: our leadership team has chosen healthcare as their focus because they understand what’s at stake when construction and care intersect.
