Curling for a Cause Returns for Third Year, Raising Over $70,000 for Sierra Leone Clinics
Vertix Health Charities brought its Curling for a Cause event back for a third consecutive year on March 6, 2026, drawing 24 teams to Rock Creek Curling in Lafayette, Colorado for a day of friendly competition and meaningful giving. By the end of the day, the event had raised more than $70,000, the most the event has generated to date, to support healthcare clinics in Sierra Leone serving mothers, infants, and families in need.
10 Essential Emergency Room Renovation Guidelines for Healthcare Facility Leaders
Key takeaways:
-
Phased construction planning, rigorous infection control protocols, and daily coordination with clinical teams are essential to safely renovate emergency rooms without disrupting patient care.
-
Real-time monitoring of noise, vibration, and air quality, along with clear communication and documentation, ensures compliance and protects both patients and sensitive medical equipment during renovations.
-
Partnering with experienced healthcare construction teams enables facility leaders to navigate complex regulatory, safety, and operational challenges unique to occupied medical environments.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT US
As we all know, renovation work goes hand in hand with surprises and challenges. [Vertix Builders] does a fantastic job of leading the team to a workable solution for everyone. Healthcare work is some of the most challenging of renovation work as well as the highest risk. [Vertix Builders] takes whatever challenges arise, be it working hours or something that will not fit as planned, in stride and brings the team across the finish line to a solution.

DSG has worked with Vertix since their company's inception on a number of our projects and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality general contractor. Our development structure requires a high level of performance from our design and construction teams for every project since the tenants are also our partners in the ownership of the buildings. Vertix has demonstrated a superior knowledge of our product type, has provided important early design-assist and pre-construction services on all of our projects, helping us hit our proforma financial targets and deliver on our promises to our partners.

In my opinion, true collaboration on the project was reached when our collections managers trusted [Vertix Builders] in any collections area of the Museum. For those that might not know, unlimited access to these types of spaces does not come easily and without a high level of trust. [Vertix Builders] earned every ounce of respect and trust from our Research and Collections Division.

I know that when it is time to walk the punchlist, Vertix has already held their pre-punch and the project is ready, making it an efficient use of everyone’s time. The Vertix team is reliable and works seamlessly together making the construction process an enjoyable experience.

The entire Vertix team has been a pleasure to work with. The Vertix company culture and work-style complements and enhances our work. A sane, predictable and fun business relationship is hard to find in Denver’s construction market. Our development company has a number of projects under construction, and Vertix has set a high mark for what’s possible. We’re looking forward to working with them on more projects in the future.

I always felt that [Vertix Builders] had the project and owner’s best interest in mind. [They were] very flexible in dealing with multiple scope changes we requested and always tried to advise us on multiple solutions. [They] managed our money well and communicated throughout the project where we stood and our options.
Marion Hammond
[Vertix Builders] brings a positive attitude to the project, even in the most trying situations. [They] can always be relied upon to roll up [their] sleeves and work with users, designers, and subcontractors to come up with creative and cost effective solutions. [They are] a great team player, putting our needs as a client ahead of [their] own.
Scott McDaniel
[Vertix Builders] exceeded all of our expectations and demands. Due to [their] tremendous work, the client specifically requested that [they] be involved in future construction projects.
