Vertix Builders Senior Superintendent
Tom Lough is a Senior Superintendent at Vertix Builders, where he leads field execution and day-to-day delivery across complex commercial projects, including healthcare, education, mission-critical, and exhibit construction. With over 25+ years of experience in commercial construction, Tom began his career in 1995 as a carpenter apprentice and advanced through the field by mastering the details that ensure projects run safely and smoothly. In addition to managing schedules and site logistics, he is known for building high-performing teams, coordinating manpower, prioritizing jobsite safety, and supporting apprenticeship development while mentoring less-experienced carpenters and assistants.
Tom is known for his calm, steady presence and his ability to work seamlessly with subcontractors, the design team, and the Owner. A true craftsman, he takes pride in the details and partners closely with designers to deliver the best possible result on every project. Tom completed a four-year carpenters’ apprenticeship (graduating as a journeyman) and a carpenters’ union superintendent training program and has pursued additional safety and compliance training, such as OSHA 30 and lead/asbestos training. He also holds an ICC certification, a contractor’s license, and LEED training, underscoring his commitment to technical excellence and code compliance. Highlights of his portfolio include exhibits and cultural work for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and Denver Zoo, as well as multiple healthcare projects. Tom is motivated by delivering projects that benefit the community, primarily through education, entertainment, health, and technology, while keeping craft quality and collaboration at the center of the build.
